Every week we review the editorial calendar to make sure the topics are engaging and remain focused on the overall mission of the site. We use lots of big, colorful pictures, videos, infographics, diagrams and anything else that enhances articles, and each article is well-researched and has high-quality content. We have a full-time editor in chief and a full-time publicist who promotes the blog posts as well as significant social media promotion to help them go viral. You work hard to write the post, we work hard to promote it.OK so now that you know what we're about, here's the details of the job: We're looking for a diligent, responsible writer with imagination and the ability to write factually and intelligently about today's most exciting entertainment design projects. This is ghostblogging to the extent that your full name does not appear on the blog. Usually your first name and first letter of last name appears. But regardless, you're welcome to include the success of the blog posts you wrote in your portfolio. We pay $30 for each 500+ word entry, and we need one entry per weekday ($150/week). You will also be responsible for updating the events page, which is $30 per updating session. This position tends to have a several month learning curve, so we ask a 6-month minimum commitment. It is your job to come up with an editorial calendar each week and proofread your work. We expect all submissions to be publication-ready.Interested applicants should come up with 3-6 titles for possible stories, and do a sample paragraph for an article on a topic of your choice. Please keep in mind that Entertainment Designer covers theme parks, restaurants, museums, aquariums, and pretty much any venue that offers a narrative experience and caters to play and the imagination. The writing tone should be in touch with playfulness and whimsy, but also be analytical, offering insights and critiques. Location: NYC Compensation: $150/wk, $30/article Telecommuting is ok.
