Position Summary:The Clinical Specialist/Life Skills Coach will work directly with adults who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (or related conditions) in one-on-one and small group settings. This role involves supporting clients through skills development, working with families, collaborating with professionals and navigating benefits. Home and community visits are a regular component of this job. The Clinical Specialist/Life Skills Coach will receive on the job training as well as weekly clinical supervision. This is a full time position of 36.25 hours per week. It is likely that the work day will include evening hours one or two days per week. The productivity standard is 70%, with 25 out of 36.25 hours per week being directly working with clients or on their behalf. Essential Job Functions: Skills Training The Clinical Specialist/Life Skills Coach provides skills training in such areas as financial management, organization strategies, and advocacy skills Coaching The Clinical Specialist/Life Skills Coach provides clinically appropriate supportive counseling founded on the empowerment model of service. Care Coordination The Clinical Specialist/Life Skills Coach will provide care coordination including assistance with applications for health care, housing, and SNAP (food stamp) benefits. He/she will also help coordinate the services when several services/providers are involved. Documentation The Clinical Specialist/Life Skills Coach develops an individual support plan with specific goals and timelines. This plan is reviewed and revised quarterly. Educational/Experience Requirements: MSW or related clinical degree and experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Excellent professional writing abilities Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, outlook) Candidate should expect to be available at least one weeknight evening. Clinical supervision and training will be provided. Valid Driver's License and willingness to use car for home visits is required.
