Caritas of Austin seeks a program coordinator to manage and administer its Community Advocate Program. The program coordinator is responsible for supervising all program activity and employees/volunteers assigned to the program. This includes a primary focus on recruiting and training volunteers for direct client services under the supervision of a staff member, serving as liaison to colleges and universities referring students for internships, and working in partnership with the Caritas Food Services Program Manager to collaborate with local culinary academies to recruit externs. Also, the Program Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the Caritas Volunteer Program on activities applicable to both programs. The coordinator must teach at least 5 classes of the Caritas University direct service volunteer curriculum. There is some evening and weekend work.

Education and Licensure
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college/university with a major in one or more of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, anthropology, education, international studies, and other human services related fields.

Minimum 3 years management experience. Minimum 3 years of volunteer experience. Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.

Bilingual preferred (Spanish, French, Arabic). Must be outgoing and able to communicate effectively with variety of people and personalities. Ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups and the general public preferred.

Computer Skills
Must be computer literate.
