The Texas Exes, the alumni association for The University of Texas at Austin, announces the immediate opening for the full-time, exempt position of Networks Coordinator.Position Overview The Networks Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of programs and projects that deeply engage alumni in association non-geographic, professional, and affinity networks. This position also assists the association's outreach to international alumni.Serving as an ambassador, the Networks Coordinator is charged with securing commitments from alumni to provide volunteer service and professional expertise, collaborating with colleagues in university administrative offices (including, but not limited to Admissions, Development, International Office, and Student Affairs) and various schools to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation. Major Job Functions• Assist director as staff liaison with the Hispanic Alumni Network, Black Alumni Network, LGBT Network, and all other non-geographic networks • Assist in providing involvement opportunities for international alumni to stay connected to the university through chapters, the University's International Office, Flying Longhorn trips, and various communications channels • Provide administrative support and direction to the board approved non-geographic networks and serve as liaison between the networks and the Association • Assist Director of Engagement in implementing business plans and the associated budgets on an annual basis• Collaborate with other staff members, volunteers and university faculty/staff on events • Work with UT Office of Admissions to facilitate alumni involvement in the admissions process• Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni Essential Job Requirements• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with volunteers, staff, colleagues throughout the university, alumni, other constituents and the public • The demonstrated ability to assist in building constituency programs and activities, along with experience managing volunteers• Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines • Strong presentation skills• Computer skills (word processing, social media, spreadsheet and database management) • Self-starter with little supervision• Ability to attend evening and weekend events, and travel to geo markets across the country representing Texas Exes• Experience with event planning and fundraising• University of Texas at Austin graduate preferredOther Skills/Abilities/Success Factors• The ability to manage volunteers and effectively communicate the message with various constituencies.• Efficiently and effectively use technology to keep members internationally abroad connected.TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION Send resume and a cover letter, professional references, and SALARY REQUIREMENTS by Tuesday, March 4, 2014 to Be sure to put "Networks Coordinator" in the subject line and state where you saw this posting.No phone calls please.www.TexasExes.orgThe Texas Exes alumni association is an Equal Opportunity Employer
