Our growth is your opportunity.[Primary Function]:Manage major procurement categories across multiple production locations. This role is responsible for full contract implementation; including writing RFPs, evaluating bids, negotiating with vendors, and maintaining vendor relationships. It also will be integral in training field personnel and working with internal customers such as Operations and Maintenance. The contract categories include, but are not limited to the following: Primarily Indirect Materials; MRO, Operating Supplies, Chemical Contracts, and other service Contracts.Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Supplier contract implementation and maintenance for corporate wide major purchasing categories.- Analyze current processing plant purchasing, by product type, and develop strategies to reduce costs.- Manage all Bill of Materials for multiple production facilities and lines. This will include procurement, inventory control, warehouse management, co-packer supply, and JIT distribution.- Work with various departments including Plant Management to optimize the performance of the business.- Work with corporate and plant management to achieve cost reduction goals in processing plant purchasing.- Negotiate supplier contract to achieve optimum product cost.- Work directly with Scheduling and/or Accounting to ensure that the established product cost goals are achieved.- Supervise and train Purchasing support staff.- Develop consistent corporate wide procedure and work instructions.- Manage Company Purchasing/Maintenance System- Administer all activities related MRO purchasing system; including centralized control of vendor and item master, part number identification structure, bills of material, development of document revisions, and master document retention and disposition.- Complete any other assignments from the director of purchasing.- Support ERP and Manitenance Systems clean-up and continuous improvement.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Participate in the supervision, work assignments, hiring and development of purchasing staff.- Ability to delegate/influence dotted line reports as well as other departments that do not report to Purchasing. [Minimum Skill Levels and Work Experience]- Bachelor¡¦s degree in Business, Material or Logistics Management, Supply Chain or related field.- Masters or MBA preferred.- 7 years relevant Purchasing experience.- Proven experience in contract implementation and maintenance.- Excellent organizational, workflow management skills.- Demonstrated high level of initiative and ownership of projects.- Demonstrate drive and ambition.- Must be a generalist, skilled and willing to handle most major facets of the purchasing function- Ability to coordinate management of multiple complexes and drive change in the organization.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Proficient with Microsoft applications and basic business systems.- Experience with daily functions of ERP/MRP systems; maintenance systems, warehouse management, etc.- Capable and skilled at writing contracts[Preferred Skill Levels and Work Experience]:- Masters or MBA- APICS Certification or CPM Training- Datastream (Infor) D7i experience- 10 years relevant Purchasing experienceWe seek to hire professionals who add value each day, guide their decisions legally, ethically, and in line with company policy.
